Erik Lamela returns to Tottenham training for first time in EIGHT MONTHS after injury as pre-season begins

TOTTENHAM’S stars returned to pre-season on Monday with forgotten man Erik Lamela back in action after EIGHT MONTHS.

Spurs are beginning their preparations slightly later than most following their post-season trip to South Korea to face Kitchee SC in May.

However, Mauricio Pochettino and his men assembled into Hotspur Way this morning after their summer break.

The club keep fans updated by posting a series of snaps onto their social media accounts.

And Argentine Lamela – who hasn't played since last October – was the main focus of those photos.

He looked delighted to back in Enfield as he was snapped carrying his washbag into training after his lengthy absence out with a hip injury.

Lamela has had surgery on both his right and left side.

That led to many speculating that his Tottenham career was finished despite having three years left on his current deal.
