A fan is wanted by the Denver Police Department after tackling the Colorado Rockies mascot at a game.

Video taken by someone in the crowd shows the Rockies’ mascot – named Dinger – as he was dancing on top of one of the dugouts at Coors Field in Monday’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Then, the fan in question gets up from his seat, goes on top of the dugout, and tackles Dinger to the ground at the legs.

While the moment may have seemed staged to some fans, others said Dinger’s handlers quickly came and hurried him away, according to TMZ.

Police in Denver have yet to make an arrest, but they have released a picture of the fan and have put out a reward of $2,000.

It’s not clear if the person wearing the Dinger suit was injured in the incident

The poster says the suspect is wanted for a ‘simple assault’ at Coors Field and are asking for anyone with information to contact the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.

‘We are working with our partners at the Colorado Rockies to identify the suspect,’ a DPD spokesperson told TMZ on Thursday.

It’s not clear if the person in the suit was injured and the Rockies have not publicly commented on this incident.

Dinger is the well known purple dinosaur that has cheered on the Rockies since they started play in 1994.

The organization chose to have a dinosaur as a mascot because fossil fragments were found while Coors Field was being built.

Allegedly, the bones were never identified as a specific species, but it was decided that Dinger would be a triceratops.

While it wasn’t a great night for Dinger, it was a good night for the Rockies. They defeated the Cardinals 7-4 for their fifth win of the season.

However, they lost the following two games of the series but will face the Seattle Mariners on the road next.
