TIM REAM has been praised for his reaction to Chris Basham's horrific injury.

The Sheffield United defender suffered a suspected broken ankle in his side's loss at Fulham.


Basham was stretchered off and taken straight to hospital as a result of the injury.

Supporters have since been quick to praise Fulham's Ream for his response to the incident.

The American was the first player to comfort Basham as he lay stricken on the floor.

He was pictured comforting the Blades star and could be seen kneeling over him as the physios rushed onto the pitch.

Reacting to the incident on social media, one fan wrote: "Look at Ream. Comforting him as he’s lying there, that is a proper top notch bloke."

Meanwhile, another added: "Tim Ream excellent professional. Immediately calling for help and staying with Basham as the help came."

It remains unknown how long Basham will be sidelined with the injury.

Speaking after the match, Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom told reporters: "He's where he needs to be, in hospital with the doctors and the medical team.
