TOTTENHAM remain the favourites to sign Scotland international John McGinn from Aston Villa this summer.

McGinn has been an ever-present in the Aston Villa side since signing in 2018 from Hibernian for just £3m.

The Scot played a crucial role in Villa's promotion-winning season in 2018/19, which included scoring in the play-off final win over Derby at Wembley, contributing to being named Aston Villa's player of the season.

The 27-year-old has impressed since making the step up to the Premier League, winning the Scottish FWA Player of the Year award for the last three years.

The midfielder's consistent run of solid performances has been rumoured to have caught the eye of some of the Premier League's big hitters, with Tottenham thought to be the most interested in acquiring his services.

Spurs' north London rivals Arsenal are also thought to be keeping tabs on the situation, with Mikel Arteta also looking to bolster his squad as he prepares for European football for the first time after a year hiatus.

Manchester United are also believed to be interested in McGinn – it's expected there will be a fair few signings made by new manager Erik ten Hag this summer.

Central midfield is expected to be a position of particular interest to ten Hag, with reinforcements needed due to the departures of Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba this summer.

Borussia Dortmund are also thought to be interested at 12/1 with Sky Bet, and there are odds of 16/1 for Brendan Rodgers to sign the midfielder for Leicester.
