LA Knight was 'p***ed off' in WWE but can't wait to go viral by embarrassing Logan Paul and winning Money in the Bank | The Sun

LA KNIGHT admits he has been "p***ed off" in WWE – but he can't wait to get his "vindication" by embarrassing Logan Paul and winning Money in the Bank.

The 40-year-old star arrived on the main roster from NXT towards the end of 2022 and went straight into a storyline with Bray Wyatt that resulted in the bizarre Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match.

Despite his huge popularity with the WWE fans, he was then frustratingly left off the WrestleMania card and he suffered a number of losses on TV amid rumours that Vince McMahon believed he would be better suited to a manager role.

But now the trash-talking American has a chance to right those wrongs by earning a guaranteed title match of his choosing at London's O2 Arena tonight by claiming the briefcase and becoming Mr Money in the Bank.

Knight, who received the loudest crowd pop of the night yesterday in the capital when he confronted Logan Paul on SmackDown, is the huge favourite going into the extravaganza.

And he spoke exclusively to Sun Sport about his "frustrating" few months leading up to this opportunity.

I’m a WWE superstar who felt ‘very lonely’ but became longest reigning champion

The former Impact Wrestling star, who previously performed as Eli Drake, said: “There have been times where I’ve been angry, frustrated and POed at stuff but doubted myself no.

“This is something where I’ve been doing it for a long time. So rolling into WWE, I know that I can make those people make a lot of noise every time I come into that building.

“So, for me, there’s a lot of vindication at this point.

“Have there been frustrations, hell yeah, but there’s never been a time when I’ve doubted myself."

HOW TO GET FREE BETS ON HORSE RACING

While he and fellow wrestlers such as Ricochet, Shinsuke Nakamura, Santos Escobar, Butch and Damien Priest have had to earn their way into the match, social media megastar Paul was handed a free pass straight into it.

Knight and Paul got into it last night on SmackDown – and now he cannot wait to become a viral sensation by embarrassing the brash YouTuber later.

Knight said of Paul's inclusion: “I could belly ache and cry about that but I understand it.

“The thinking is that we’ll bring him in and it’s going to be new eyes, his fans will see us and our fans will see him, and that’s awesome and good for them.

“Then, when I can walk into Monday Night Raw and talk trash to Logan Paul, and it goes viral then I will take that opportunity every single day.

“And Saturday, when I get to do that in the physical form, yeah I’m alright with that. Come on down Logan Paul.”

So with a star-studded match card, how will Knight steal the show at the O2 Arena?

“I think there’s going to be a lot of fireworks, lot of craziness, bodies and ladders flying everywhere," he added.

"But, at the end of the night, the only thing I can focus on is pulling that briefcase down."
