Laura Woods accidentally kissed 'heart-throb' darts world champion on the LIPS at end of interview | The Sun

LAURA WOODS revealed she accidentally kissed a "heart-throb" darts world champion on the LIPS at the end of an interview.

The popular presenter has wowed fans with her outfits on ITV covering the Women's World Cup.

But she is never afraid to poke a bit of fun at herself.

And the Arsenal fan needed a good sense of humour looking back on one very awkward moment at the darts.

Woodsy had just finished interviewing Steve Beaton, the former world No1 and 1996 BDO world champ.

And that's where things took a turn for the worse.

Laura Woods lets slip huge secret about ITV’s Women’s World Cup studio

Woods, 36, told the Happy Hour Podcast: "If you don’t know who Steve Beaton is, he’s called the Bronzed Adonis.

"He is a beautiful man and he spent his whole career being an absolute heart-throb in the world of darts, which doesn’t sound difficult does it?

"When I finished the interview, I went, ‘Thank you so much’ and I went to shake his hand, he went for a cuddle.

"Because he’d gone for a cuddle, I like put my arms around him and almost went for a kiss on the cheek.

"He then realised I was for the kiss so he turned and we kissed on the lips.

"I was like, ‘Oh my God, what have I done?’ He was like the holy grail and I'd poisoned it.

"Anyway, I realised and I went back into the truck, sat down and the guys were like, 'Are you alright?’

"I had my head in my hands and was like, ‘I just kissed the Bronzed Adonis on the mouth and I felt his beard.' I felt like I’d done the worst thing in the world but now I revel in that."

Woods has regularly rinsed plucky blokes trying to woo her or exposed vile, sexist trolls, shutting them down with her hilarious quips and brutal responses on Twitter.

She bid an emotional farewell to her role as talkSPORT Breakfast host at the end of last season and has enjoyed a fabulous summer.

SUMMER LOVING

Woods let her hair down at Glastonbury and had it done up for trips to Ascot and Wimbledon.

She has landed the prestigious gig at the rebranded TNT Sports channel, replacing Jake Humphrey as their main presenter for the Champions League.

Away from work, Woods opened up on her dating life with The Sun – and how leaving the early-morning talkSPORT show could help her find love.

She said: “I am single, but I’m also dating. That’s a part of my life that I have learned to keep private.

"I don’t want to put my whole life out there for everybody to see. I want to keep some things like ‘that person’ more sacred.
