TNT Sports presenter Laura Woods was unable to keep a straight face when Les Ferdinand listed Newcastle fans’ priorities ahead of their Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night.
Woods is currently dating former Love Island star Adam Collard, who hails from Newcastle, with the couple recently going public about their relationship.
They have appeared smitten with each other on social media, but Ferdinand suggested the Geordie faithful tend to put other matters above the women in their life.
The ex-Newcastle striker explained to Woods: ‘A couple of guys said to me, “Football, the wife and then work in that order!” Do you know what I mean? Football just means everything up here and you’ve got to know that as a player.’
Ferdinand’s remark drew a giggle from Woods, who quipped back: ‘What about the wife and work!?’ as she pretended to be offended, before adding, ‘But no, I understand what you’re saying. It is very, very special to them.’

Whether Collard, 28, sees things that way is another matter, as he has been on multiple dating shows in recent years.
He appeared on Love Island in 2018 and 2022, before going on Celebs Go Dating earlier this year.
Collard briefly dated Lottie Moss, the half-sister of model Kate, on the latter show, but is now with Woods.
He recently declared that she is ‘the one’, making it clear things are getting ‘serious’ between the pair.
Newcastle were cheered on by their typically passionate supporters on Wednesday, but slipped to a 1-0 defeat against Dortmund, leaving their Champions League group wide open.
Felix Nmecha scored the only goal of the game on the stroke of half time as Dortmund leapfrogged Newcastle into second spot in Group F.
Newcastle came close to earning a point late on, but were denied by the woodwork twice.
It was a costly evening for Eddie Howe’s men, with Alexander Isak and Jacob Murphy both picking up injuries.
Meanwhile, Sandro Tonali came off the bench to make what is expected to be his final appearance of the season, with the Italian midfielder set to be handed a 10-month ban for illegal betting on football.
