Man Utd star Marcus Rashford told he’d be 'brilliant' in Liverpool attack… but would be 'throttled' if he moved

GLEN JOHNSON believes wantaway Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford would be "brilliant" in Liverpool's attack.

Rashford has endured a tough season off the back of his Euro 2020 final heartbreak with England and shoulder surgery.

The England international has just five goals in 26 appearances this term and is said to be frustrated with his lack of game time.

Rashford has been linked with a move to Arsenal.

But former Liverpool right-back Johnson says Rashford would be "brilliant" for Jurgen Klopp's title-chasing side.

Johnson also warned Rashford that he would be "throttled" for the move.

Speaking to Bettingodds.com: "I believe Marcus Rashford would suit any team.

"Any team who gets him is getting a great player as you don’t lose your ability overnight.

"Imagine him in the Liverpool side? He’d be brilliant but he’d be throttled if he made that choice."

Johnson also tipped the club where he started his professional career, West Ham, as a place Rashford could succeed.

The Hammers under David Moyes have been pushing for a top-four finish for the past two seasons.

And Moyes' men could be one or two big signings away from causing an upset.

Johnson said: "West Ham are a team now that are beginning to knock on the door so in that case everything’s a possibility.”

A move away wouldn't happen if Rashford "was playing the way he could play."

In fact, the 24-year-old would be a starter week in and week out for the Red Devils, says Johnson.

He added: "If Marcus Rashford was playing the way he could play then this wouldn’t even be a conversation as he’d be starting for Manchester United every week. I think he’s a great player."
