Portugal announce incredible Euro 2020 squad with Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Ruben Dias leading charge

PORTUGAL have announced their 26-man squad for the Euros… and revealed their incredible strength in depth.

The reigning champions head to the tournament as sixth favourites despite having a squad full of star-studded talent.

Captain Cristiano Ronaldo, the country's record scorer with 103 goals, obviously remains the star attraction and he'll have plenty of creativity behind him to add to his remarkable international tally.

On the wing, boss Fernando Santos can rely on Manchester City's superstar Bernardo Silva and Liverpool's Diogo Jota.

Benfica's Rafa Silva, who has 20 caps to his name, is also in the side along with Valencia's Goncalo Guedes also a reliable option.

United's Bruno Fernandes will undoubtedly take the No10 role while Atletico Madrid's wonderkid Joao Felix is also an option.

Santos will also be able to play Ronaldo out on the left and give Felix or Andre Silva the nod in attack.

The battle in midfield remains equally as intense with Wolves pair Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves available.

Defensive midfielders William Carvalho and Sporting's Joao Palhinha are more than capable of protecting the back four.

Attackers across Europe won't fancy going up against Portugal's brilliant defence.

Manchester City pair Joao Cancelo and Ruben Dias have proven this season that they are undoubtedly the best in the world in their positions.

Portugal stalwart Pepe provides plenty of experience and arrives at the tournament with 113 caps to his name.

The left-back spot appears up for grabs with Sporting's Nuno Mendes and Borussia Dortmund's Raphael Guerreiro both options.

In goal Wolves' Rui Patricio and Anthony Lopes will contend for the No1 shirt with Rui Silva likely to play backup.
