ARSENAL remain favourites to win the Premier League.

That's according to bookmakers Betfair, who've made Mikel Arteta's leader leaders the 8-13 favourites to lift the ultimate prize.

Their chances of winning their first top flight title since 2004 looked to have taken a serious dent when losing at struggling Everton on Sunday.

Since then, chief title rivals Manchester City lost at North London rivals Spurs and now Pep Guardiola's men are staring down the brink of a points deduction.

A four-year investigation has found over 100 alleged breaches of financial rules, with expulsion from the league and a docking of points among the potential punishments.

The Gunners' odds – 40-1 before the season – were 4-6 earlier today before the news broke and are now into 8-13.

As a result of all of the above, City have drifted from 8-15 to 9-5, with Pep Guardiola admitting his side aren't in a position to think about winning the title with the gap as it is.

A draw with Crystal Palace a fortnight ago before defeat at the Emirates appeared to rule them out the title race.

But the weekend results see Erik ten Hag's side move back to just three points behind rivals City in the league standings.

The Red Devils are next in the betting market at 11-1 – in from 40-1 last week, and were as big as 19-1 before the City revelations.

Eddie Howe's Newcastle are considered 'best of the rest' at 50-1 but will be disappointed to drop points at home to a toiling West Ham side.

Liverpool moved to 375-1, while Chelsea and Tottenham are 500-1, the same price as high-flying Brentford and Brighton.
