PSV 1 Leicester 2: Last-gasp Pereira strike completes famous comeback as brave Foxes reach Conference League semi-finals

LEICESTER CITY will contest a European semi-final for the first time in the Foxes' 138 year history after James Maddison inspired a dramatic late comeback.

Maddison and Ricardo Pereira left it late to sucker Eindhoven with two late strikes after Eran Zahavi's first half goal left the Dutch side with one foot in the semis.


Make no mistake, this night was all about PSV   a Pretty Sensational Victory for Brendan Rodgers' never-say-die Foxes.

It will certainly live long in the memory of Foxes fans, lucky enough to witness their heroes' amazing comeback – just as they feared the lights had gone out on their Euro dream in the Philips Stadium.

Maddison was simply magnificent as he tormented the Dutch all night.

So it was fitting he should spark his side's late, late show.

Pereira goal completes Foxes comeback to reach Europa Conference semis

He hauled his side back into the tie with 13 minutes remaining and Leicester seemingly on their way out of the competition.

But Ricardo Pereira set up substitute Ayoze Perez wide on the right and the Frenchman cut the ball back to Maddison who expertly flashed his shot high past Mvogo.

That strike knocked the wind out of PSV's sails and as Maddison celebrated with sub James Justin a paper cup containing liquid was hurled at the celebrating Foxes.

They responded in the perfect manner – with another goal, two minutes from the end as PSV crumbled.

At that point former European champs PSV believed they were heading through – but Leicester kept going and were rewarded as they played out the perfect Eind game!
