Queen's Championship match STOPPED twice as fans are given urgent medical attention | The Sun

A TENNIS match at The Queens Club had to be stopped twice this afternoon due to medical emergencies in the crowd.

Holger Rune and Alex de Minaur were competing for a place in the men's Cinch Championship final when the incidents occurred.

The first pause occurred midway through the first set with De Minaur on serve at 3-3.

A fan had been taken ill and the match was momentarily suspended while they were tended to by the medics.

There was another stoppage later in the set at 5-5 following calls for help at the top of the north stand.

Play was able to continue shortly after each of the incidents.

Both fans were understood to be okay following medical treatment.

Commentator Greg Rusedski sent well wishes to the spectators while covering the match.

He said: "This is really unfortunate for the players.

"We really hope the person up top is alright. That's already the second time it's happened during this match and from a player's point of view you always have a bit of concern for the spectator."
