Rachael Blackmore forced off rides after nasty fall stops her from racing ahead of Cheltenham | The Sun

RACHAEL BLACKMORE was forced off her rides on Thursday after suffering a nasty fall in schooling.

Ruby Walsh confirmed the Grand National heroine and Cheltenham Festival legend was injured working at home.

Blackmore missed three rides at Thurles, where she looked to have good chances in the shape of Secret She Keeps and Still Ciel.

She is down to ride once each day at Cheltenham's first meeting of the season.

Nothing has yet been confirmed on Blackmore's ability to make it over to Prestbury Park, but Walsh was certain she won't be out long regardless.

Walsh said on Racing TV: "She doesn't think she will be out for too long.

"I don't think this time of year too many National Hunt riders like to be out as things start to hot up.

"She had a couple of rides but they have gone elsewhere."

Blackmore is booked to ride She Is Electric in the 2.45 at Cheltenham on Friday and 33-1 Story Rory in the 3.50 on Saturday.

Blackmore last rode a winner on October 11 when she was victorius on War Correspondent in the Paddy Power "Don't Mind The Flat, The Jumps Are Back" hurdle at Punchestown.

Famed for her success with trainer Henry de Bromhead, Blackmore recently admitted 'winners don't feel the same' after death of the trainer's young son.

Jack de Bromhead tragically died last month aged just 13 after a pony racing accident.

Blackmore, who was at young Jack's funeral, won De Bromhead's first winner since his boy's passing.

Speaking afterwards, she said: "The horse did it really well, he ran around a bit at the end.

"It is great to get but obviously winners don’t feel the same now.

"We are all thinking of Jack."
