A knee injury looks set to keep Neves out of action until May but that is unlikely to dissuade several big-name suitors from pursuing the 25-year-old this summer.

So who is in the running to sign Ruben Neves?

Manchester United are leading the race to sign Neves according to Betfair.

He's 2/1 to head to the red side of Manchester after news that Erik Ten Hag – who has been strongly linked with taking over at Old Trafford – would prioritise signing the Portuguese this summer.

A move would appear to depend on finalising Ten Hag as the new United manager but that reality moved a step further on Thursday after markets on the next United boss were frozen.
