MOLDOVAN minnows Sheriff Tiraspol pulled off one of the greatest Champions League shocks in history on Tuesday night – beating the mighty Real Madrid 2-1 at the Bernabeu.
The visitors took the lead in the first half only to be pegged back by a Karim Benzema penalty, but a dramatic 89th minute winner from Sebastien Thill saw Sheriff claim three barely believable points.
And what a goal it was.
The 27-year-old midfielder, on loan from Luxembourg outfit Progres Niederkorn, unleashed an unstoppable left-footed half-volley from outside the box into the top corner past the helpless Thibaut Courtois.
And it doing so he secured one of the all-time great Champions League upsets.
But the drama doesn't stop there – Luxembourger Thill actually has a tattoo on his leg of him dreaming of winning the Champions League.
The picture is of Thill wearing the no31 shirt, with the Champions League trophy in a dream bubble next to the flag of Luxembourg.
While Tuesday night's strike wasn't for Champions League glory, he would probably still take scoring a last minute winner at the home of the most successful team in the competition's history.
And predictably footy fans on social media absolutely loved it.
One ecstatic fan simply wrote: "Goosebumps" in response to the tattoo.
Another pointed out that the story is the: "Stuff of dreams," alongside an emoji of a football and a love heart.
His goal also puts Sheriff in an excellent position to QUALIFY for the knockout stages in their first ever Champions League campaign.
Tuesday's win puts them on six points after beating Shakhtar Donetsk on Matchday One, with ten points the traditional magic number to secure qualification.
Real Madrid are currently second on three points, with Inter and Shakhtar Donetsk both having just one point.
It's not Thill's first memorable goal in Europe though.
While playing for FC Progres in 207, Thill scored against Scottish giants Rangers in the Europa League and is well known to fans as the man who inflicted Rangers' worst-ever European defeat.
And the Thill family seem to have a habit for scoring historical goals.
Sebastien's dad, Serge, once scored DIRECT from kick off while playing for Luxembourg side CS Grevenmacher back in 1997.
Speaking after the game against Los Blancos, match winner Thill said: "It's the best and most important goal of my career, that's for sure.
"We're so happy. We played a really good game.
"The side were so brave with how we played and luckily enough I was able to score a bit of a stunner."
