MICHAEL CHIESA takes on Neil Magny in an entertaining welterweight bout on Fight Island.

    Chiesa is pawing at his right eye but it was an accidental poke and he has recovered.

    Magny has let this chance slip through his fingers, played into Chiesa' hands.

    Wrestler Chiesa has enjoyed a training session on the mat.

    Chiesa's corner tell him not to show any fatigue.

    And he throws a peach of a right hand before wrestling Magny into the canvas.

    Magny has his legs warapped around Chiesa's neck in an inverted triangle and is free to ram elbows into his unguarded ribs.

    Final round now, Chiesa well ahead.

    Now Chiesa gets the takedown and gets full mount after a scramble.

    Chiesa has a guillotine but Magny slips out of it brilliantly.

    Magny is now back in a horribly familiar place, stuck on his back and being manhandled.

    The bell goes.

    Magny has turned the tables now and pinned Chiesa to the deck.

    Now Magny has his back and is looking for his neck.

    Chiesa is thumping at Magny's ear, trying to burst the eardrum.

    But Magny has the bit between his teeth.

    It is far from thrilling but Chiesa has just banked a second round.

    The opener ends with Magny on his back but in now real danmger and neither men hurt in the opening five minutes.

    Magny just about avoids a left hand from the southpaw.

    But the Brazilian boogieman wrecked the party with brilliant kicks to the Tunisian's body.

    Lazzez was all hype and the old war dog took advantage brilliantly.

    But Alves is clever so pins him against the cage wall early.

    Lazzez is not being respected at all by the underdog and he smashes his ribs with kicks and wins!

    Villanueva's corner tell their man he won the opener and tell him to slash Moreira's guard with an uppercut.

    And he walks out and turns Moreira's lights out with a massive right hook that felled Moreira like a tree.

    Moreira spun almost 180 degrees as he slumped to the canvas.

    Limited action and skill coming from these light-heavyweights.

    Neither man looks in tip-top shape and are taking pot-shots at each other.

    Villanueva is doing his best to win the round, throwing easy-to-read bombs and Moreira is tryingt o be more accurate.

    The judges say 30-27, 30-27 and 30-26 to the brilliant Brazilian.

    The winner says: "It was a pleasure to fight such a tough opponent.

    "Roxie is very good and I am very happy"

    Modafferi's right cheekbone looks shattered but she tags Araujo with a big shot and sends he scuttling backwards.

    Araujo is just pinging that purple and battered eye socket.

    But the rock-hard Modafferi does not stop walking forward and ends up getting dragged down for her peristence.

    Modaferri is on her back but she is clinging on for the final few seconds. It goes to the judges…

    Modafferi starts fast, knowing she needs a shock KO.

    Araujo has not had as much success since the opening three minutes when she looked ferocious.

    Modafferi lands a takedown and drags the fight into the cage wall, the fight is still on the feet.

    Now they are on the floor and Araujo is on top. They break and reset to box again.

    Modafferi was slammed into the canvas at the end of the second and her right eye is streaming now.

    In the break Modafferi's corner tell her to stop getting tagged with the check hooks.

    Team Araujo tell her to not throw her advantage away, she is two rounds up.

    Modafferi is rock hard and eats a couple of shots before trying a takedown.

    Araujo spins it again though and the clinch breaks up.

    Modafferi is getting beaten to every punch and Araujo is coasting and switching stances as she unloads.

    Modafferi lands a right hand to warn the favourite not to get complacent.

    Modafferi's team tell her she has to cut the cage down, the referee comes over and checks on the underfire American.

    Araujo's corner seems much more relaxed and she doesn't need any instruction.

    Modafferi is guarding her face better and catching Araujo's shots in the second.

    Ruthless uppercut from Araujo slashes up through Modafferi's guard.

    A lead left hook from the Brazilian also scores and Modafferi almost drops to the floor after another whack.

    Modafferi tries a front kick and a punch but does no damage.

    Modafferi shoots for a takedown but it's late in the round and Araujo switches it but Modafferi is saved by the bell.

    Modafferi is the hugely experienced veteran but the underdog against the 9-2 Brazilian.

    Modafferi is 25-18 and has the height advantage, the Las Vegas lady is ranked No 8 in the UFC.

    Araujo looking heavy handed and throwing her right hands. DC urges his fellow American to take it to the floor.

    Modafferi is already marked around her eyes from the peppering.
