Ukraine wonderkid Sudakov, 19, is 'good enough for Man City' and about to become a dad but is risking life on front line

SHAKHTAR DONETSK youngster Georgiy Sudakov is good enough to play for Manchester City and Barcelona but is being robbed of his dreams by a "senseless war".

That is according to Sudakov's former Shakhtar Under-21 coach Fernando Valente, who revealed that the attacking midfielder is currently hiding in a bunker with his wife Lisa, who is expecting their first child.

The couple are taking refuge following Russia's unjust invasion of Ukraine, which has resulted in over 600 deaths while at least 2.8 million people have fled the country.

The 19-year-old ace has spent five years with the Donetsk giants and made his senior debut in 2020 against Real Madrid.

The Ukrainian has since amassed a total of five goals and one assist in 28 appearances as well as three caps with the national team.

Valente shared his emotional story amid Russian president Vladimir Putin's unpopular war and revealed Sudakov is the "greatest talent" he has ever coached with skills worthy of City and Barca.

The Portuguese coach admitted he struggles to hold back his tears when he thinks of him, Lisa as well as their unborn daughter.

Valente tweeted: "War stories: Giorgi Sudakov is the greatest talent I have coached in my life.

"19 years old, international for Ukraine, recently renewed contract until 2026 with Shakhtar.

"A fantastic human being waiting to be a father with his wife Lisa of a girl…

"Dreams to be fulfilled, snatched away by a bunker in a senseless war. Yes…

"I cry and pray for this couple and for all the young players and friends I left behind in a Ukraine that made me happy for two years. My heart is broken.

"Sudakov is a kid with enormous potential, even to play for FC Barcelona or Manchester City."
