ANDY RUIZ JR has shown off the blistering hand speed that stunned Anthony Joshua ahead of his boxing comeback.

The Mexican-American takes on veteran Chris Arreola on Saturday night in what will be his first fight back since his lame points loss in the Joshua rematch.


Just six months before that fight in Saudi Arabia, Ruiz Jr had shocked the world by stopping Joshua to become unified heavyweight champ.

Then followed 'six months of partying' that ultimately cost him any hope in the rematch, Ruiz Jr coming in unfit and out-of-shape to lose almost every round.

The 31-year-old has lost two-stone ahead of his ring-return and is expected to make short work of Arreloa.

A convincing win after 18 months out of action would put him straight back into contention at world level.

Ruiz Jr's coach Jorge Capetillo uploaded footage of Ruiz Jr showing off those well-known fast fists.

Ruiz Jr revealed there is no secret to getting back into shape – just old fashioned hard work and healthy eating.

After weighing in at 283lbs in his Joshua rematch, Ruiz Jr is down to around 257lbs as his comeback fight against Arreola draws into view.

He told Fight Hub TV: "I’ve always been overweight and now I’ve been dropping weight normally and in the right way – by eating right, not just wearing the sauna suit, starving yourself…

"Because that’s what I used to do back in the day. But now that we’re eating the right things, we’re working on the right things, I feel amazing.

“I can do better stuff that I couldn’t do before because of my big gut, I had chi-chis, I had t*** that wouldn’t let me throw the right punches and all that.

"But now I’m more motivated, I’m more dedicated in this sport and sky’s the limit."
