West Ham identify former Arsenal star to replace Declan Rice who is Gunners’ top transfer target in the summer | The Sun

WEST HAM are reportedly interested in signing Marseille midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.

The Hammers are set to lose Declan Rice this summer, with Arsenal understood to be leading the race for the 24-year-old.

And according to The Athletic, David Moyes and his team have set their sights on former Gunner Guendouzi as the midfielder's potential replacement.

The Frenchman spent four years with Arsenal after joining from FC Lorient in 2018.

He scored once in 82 appearances before leaving north London to join Marseille on a permanent transfer last summer.

Guendouzi has registered five goals and five assists in 40 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants so far this season.

Marseille have already lined up a replacement for the Frenchman, who is expected to leave when the summer transfer window opens.
