A Place In The Sun got a bit tense when a couple hoping to retire in Malta snubbed every single property presenter Ben Hillman took them around.
In Wednesday’s episode (February 17) on Channel 4, Sharon and her husband Nev were looking for a two-bedroom apartment with a maximum budget of £160,000.
The ideal home needed to have a safe inner courtyard for their pet cat Milo to play in and be on the ground floor because of ex-soldier Nev's knee injury.
Ben took them around multiple properties – but none fit the bill.
Finally, he found a three-bedroom apartment within their budget in their dream location of Marsaskala, a seaside town in the southeastern part of the island.
The apartment boasted an inner courtyard and a balcony and also had a spacious living room for entertaining visiting family and friends.
At first, it seemed Sharon and Never were impressed with the apartment’s huge size and could be tempted.
But then Ben took them into the massive kitchen, which had dark wooden counters.
"What do you think?" he asked.

"It needs gutting," said Sharon bluntly, looking around the room in disappointment.
Looking shocked, Ben said: "I wasn't expecting you to be that brutal."
Suggesting they renovate the kitchen at a future date, he added: "You couldn't live with this? Even for a couple of years?"
Nev said: "In its current condition, I don't think I could live with it."
Ben hit back: "Isn't it more important to get the right property and then do these things over time?"
Although Sharon admitted the apartment was almost exactly what they wanted and had more space than she thought possible within their budget, it was a firm no.
"My issue is the amount of work needed to be done on the property to bring it up to our standard," said Nev.
In the end, Nev and Sharon decided to return to Malta for another property hunt, without the help of Ben, in the future.
This comes after A Place In The Sun presenter Jasmine Harman was left in an awkward position after appearing to spark an argument between a couple with a property they disagreed on.
