Archbishop says he ‘prays daily’ for Kate Garraway’s husband Derek

Kate Garraway's husband has the whole nation praying for him to make a recovery after he contracted the coronavirus last March and has remained in hospital ever since.

The British public has followed the heartbreaking story every day after her hubby, Derek Draper, was put into an induced coma last year.

And now the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, who says he prays for the Prime Minister's health every single day, said that Derek is also on his daily list of people to pray for.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain today to talk about praying during lockdown, the Archbishop revealed the list of people he keeps at the front of his mind.

After presenter Piers Morgan asked the Archbishop if he still prays daily for Boris Johnson, Mr Welby revealed he has added a new name to the list.

Mr Welby said: "I also pray daily for one of your co-workers, her husband. Kate Garraway's husband."

The leader of the Church of England went on to say that he still prays every day for Prime Minister Boris Johnson and other world political leaders.
