Bargain Hunt viewers left in hysterics as ‘cheeky’ toy leaves couple divided

Bargain Hunt viewers were left in hysterics after a bloke decided to take a 'peculiar' children's toy to auction – but failed to convince his wife it was a good idea.

In the repeated episode, which aired on Friday afternoon (March 24), BBC presenter Christina Trevanionheads took the blue and red teams to Leominster, Herefordshire to hunt some bargains in a bid to make a stonking profit at the Secondhand Warehouse and Antiques Centre.

The teams were aided by the expert help of antique specialists Kate Bliss and Ochuko Ojiri to see who can buy the most profitable three items to take to auction.

However, there was one item that caught the eye of viewers – which left people throughout the show divided, including married couple Andy and Paula, who made up the blue team.

Andy had spotted the "cheeky" 1930s felt monkey hidden away in the corner and instantly fell in love with it.

Antique expert Ochuko Ojiri agreed, saying: "It's a collectable. It's got age to it. Someone would love to add that to their collection.

However, Paula said she still "wasn't keen" and insisted they look for something else.

She added: "I'm not very keen. I don't like the monkey's face."

But moments later, they were back again to purchase it after haggling the price down from to £29.

However, the couple still made a £19 loss on the item – leaving viewers howling as they say that Andy should have gone with his wife decision over it.
