BBC Breakfast’s Sally Nugent compared foreign secretary Liz Truss to former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher during a gruelling interview on the morning show.

During Wednesday’s instalment of the popular news show, the 50-year-old and her co-host Dan Walker were joined by the Conservative party member.

And the brunette beauty made sure to grill the politician on air as she demanded answers following the recent garden party scandal the political party faced this month.

But one area that caused contention on air was when the broadcaster compared a recent picture of the foreign secretary in a tank during a recent trip to Estonia.

As she joined the co-stars on air, Sally asked if the politician was aware of the impact of the strikingly similar picture to one of Margaret Thatcher in a British Army tank during a visit to West Germany in 1986.
