BBC Breakfast viewers left blushing as stable owner reveals VERY rude nickname for horse

BBC Breakfast viewers were left blushing after a stable owner revealed a VERY rude nickname for a horse.

Friday's programme saw Jayne McCubbin present a segment on horse flies from a stable on the Wirral.

Jayne spoke to horse owner Helen, who's mare had fallen ill from some nasty bites.

The presenter introduced the segment saying: "We're at Foxes Competition Centre, I want to introduce somebody else now – her name is Vira, but she's fondly known as Vadge."

Jayne explained how Vadge was a "poorly girl", and seemed oblivious to the fact the name is also slang for female genitalia.

She continued: "These bites are really serious – and if it can do that to a big beast like this, gorgeous girl Vadge, imagine what it can do to a human."

Viewers almost spat their breakfasts out at the moment, with one writing on Twitter: "Is… is that… did they just say that horse on @BBCBreakfast is called VAG/VADGE?!!?!?"

A fellow viewer replied: "I am asking myself the exact same question."

A third tweeted: "I'm sorry, what? #BBCBreakfast #Vadge," leading others to reply:"I thought I'd misheard!"

It isn't the only blunder that has happened on BBC mornings this week.

On Thursday, Victoria Derbyshire missed her cue on BBC Breakfast after having a wardrobe malfunction with her shoes.

As the camera panned across the newsroom and into the studio, Victoria could be seen in silhouette at the back of the set doubled over and fiddling with her shoe and foot.

The camera then reached the point where Victoria should have been stood and the lights went up and she could be heard saying "Oh my God" off camera.

Ever the pro, she then walked calmly into shot to read the headlines, but not before apologising to viewers for the delay.

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
