BBC Breakfast's Sally Nugent left red-faced after accidentally insulting Carol Kirkwood's hair | The Sun

BBC Breakfast's Sally Nugent was left red-faced after accidentally insulting Carol Kirkwood's hair.

Sally, 51, was back on the red sofa alongside Jon Kay for today's programme, while Carol was on location at RSPB Arne in Dorset.

Sally looked lovely in a blush pink, figure hugging dress and was able to keep cool in the studios air con.

Meanwhile Carol, 60, kept her look a bit more casual in a pair of slim fit black trousers and a white bunny print T-shirt.

However, the weather presenter had to deal with the hot temperatures many parts of the UK faced this morning, carrying on from the humid conditions at the weekend.

As Carol handed back to the studio, she said: "Jon and Sal, I don’t know about you two but I, for one, will be glad to see the back of this humidity.”

Sally replied: "Well, I love it Carol! Apart from the havoc with the hair, I think it’s great.”

Carol immediately put her hands to her own blonde hair and replied: "What are you saying Sal?!”

Jon, 53, could immediately be heard laughing, while Sally went as pink as her dress and looked flustered as she realised Carol had thought she was directing the comment at her.

She said: "No I meant mine! Not yours.”

The camera then came back to the studio and BBC Breakfast viewers could see Sally with her hand over her mouth, giggling sheepishly at her blunder.

Jon said: "Well got out of that Sal" to which she replied: "Did I? Oh good."
