A BBC News host was forced to apologise after a mortifying technical blunder at the start of the programme.
During Wednesday's BBC Breakfast, which was presented by Jon Kay and Sally Nugent, the show cutaway for the regional news bulletins.
Standing by to present the Beeb's Look North headlines was Clare Frisby.
However, the presenter was left mortified and was forced to issue an apology at the beginning of the bulletin.
Due to a technical issue in the studio, the lighting equipment had failed, leaving viewers struggling to see Clare.
The 56-year-old told telly watchers: "Hello good morning, we start with an apology.

"We've got a problem here in the studio with the lights.
"I hope that you can still hear me and we will still be able to run our report."
Despite the blunder, viewers praised Clare for her professionalism and made cheeky digs at the Beeb.
One said: "But Clare, as ever, the consummate pro."

It comes after Channel 4 also suffered technical issues yesterday morning.
As viewers tuned in for a triple bill of American sitcom Frasier, they were left scratching their heads when the picture froze for several minutes.
