BBC RADIO has been caught up in a glaring technical blunder as listeners were left with 'dead air and emergency music'.
The broadcaster has suffered a number of mishaps recently, the most recent that saw a BBC News host apparently flashing her middle finger on air.
But now local BBC Radio listeners were left scratching their heads as they tuned in to 'dead air and emergency music'.
BBC Radio Sussex appeared to have gremlins in their system which resulted in the contingency tape playing for just under 40 minutes.
Capturing the blunder, a TV blog took to social media and said: "Tech issues on #BBCLocalRadio seem to be an almost daily occurrence.
"This is @BBCSussex this evening. Kent news at 6pm, followed by dead air. Then emergency music tape for just under 40 mins before normal programming resumes."

Meanwhile, last week a weather presenter was left mortified after a rogue crew member blocked her report.
Elizabeth Rizzini was telling audiences what temperatures they can expect in the coming days on BBC News at 10 when the incident happened.
A member of production then walked directly in front of the live camera, blocking viewers' view of Elizabeth.
They appeared to be reading a booklet and seemed unaware of the gaffe.

The seasoned weathercaster did not lose her cool for a moment, and carried on saying: "An improving picture from the West – but it will be feeling colder."
Earlier this month Maryam Moshiri appeared to be joking with bosses behind the scenes and flashed her middle finger to the camera.
However, the embarrassing blunder occurred just as the BBC show came on air meaning viewers were greeted with the rude gesture.
Maryam appeared panicked when she realised the moment had made it to air and scrambled to continue the bulletin.
