BBC Strictly’s Dianne Buswell’s dig at ex-partners as she praises Bobby ahead of final

Dianne Buswell has opened up about reaching the Strictly Come Dancing final for the first time since 2018 and shared her hopes of lifting the Glitterball trophy with Bobby Brazier.

The Strictly pro, 34, last competed in the final in 2018 with now-boyfriend Joe Sugg, 32, but the pair were beaten by Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton, who won the series.

Aside from the year she danced with Joe, Dianne, who joined the BBC show in 2017, has been hit by a string of early exits. Her first celebrity partner was Reverend Richard Coles, but the duo only made it to week three.

In 2019 and 2020, when she was partnered with DJ Dev Griffin and Max George, Dianne left in week four. In 2021, her celebrity partner Robert Webb had to withdraw in week four due to medical reasons, and in 2022, she reached Blackpool with Tyler West, but the duo failed to make it to the final.

Now, Dianne is finally back in the final with EastEnders star Bobby, 20, and she's admitted she's "dreamt" of lifting the Glitterball trophy "many, many times".

Speaking to The Mirror and other press, she said: "It would be a real magical moment [to win]. I've dreamt of this moment many many times and I feel like there's been many times that I've gone, oh maybe not this year, maybe not this year.

"Seventh year – possibly it could happen. Seven is a good number and for Bobby, because it's his only chance to lift the trophy. I've just had such a brilliant time with Bobby and I feel he really deserves to win."

Bobby said he felt like it would be "the cherry on top" to win Strictly and feels he's done as much as he "possibly could have done" during the series.

Dianne also teased her and Bobby's final show dance, which they will dance on Saturday, 15 December in the grand final at Elstree Studios. The couple are competing against Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin as well as Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola.

Speaking about their dance, Dianne said: "I absolutely love this show dance and I wanted it to all be about Bobby. My thing with Bobby is, when I first met him, he was just something really special and a star in the making."

The Strictly pro went on to say she "truly believes" that Bobby will one day make it to Hollywood and be "something magical", before going on to his "hard work" and journey.
