Strictly Come Dancing star Vito Coppola has fuelled rumours of a romance with his partner Ellie Leach, as he kissed her on Wednesday night's episode of Strictly: It Takes Two.

The duo appeared on the BBC spin-off show alongside host, Janette Manrara, to discuss their upcoming performance, which will see them dance an American Smooth to Robbie Williams' Ain't That A Kick In The Head.

Former Coronation Street star Ellie hailed Vito as "an amazing person" and expressed her gratitude for the Italian-born professional dancer.

Ellie said: "I think that every week I'm seeing myself grow much more. I've always known that he's an amazing dancer, and choreographer, and person, so I do trust you.

"And why wouldn't you listen to a professional?! He knows exactly what he's doing."

Vito beamed as his dance partner showered him with compliments, before taking her hand in both of his and kissing it.

Ellie smiled from ear to ear as she laughed off the kiss, before turning to Vito and adding: "It is true. You know exactly what you're doing and I think to be able to learn from you is amazing."

This isn't the first time the duo have sparked romance rumours.

A couple of weeks ago, Ellie and Vito delighted audiences with a mesmerising Paso Doble to Insomnia by Faithless which scored them 37 points.

At the end of their jaw-dropping performance, the couple passionately looked each other in the eye before Vito put his hands on Ellie's face and kissed her on the cheek.

Fans quickly took to X, formally known as Twitter, to point out their chemistry and speculate that they are more than dance partners.

One fan penned: “I've been saying for WEEKS that ellie and vito are together and i was right!!!”, while another said: “ llie and Vito absolutely smashed it this week! There was definitely *something* happening though [eyes emoji]."

A third added: “I love Ellie & Vito so much! I hope the rumours that they’re dating are true because the way they look at each other & Vito always kissing her is SO DAMN CUTE! I hope it’s true! They deserved another 10 though!”

Another said: “Ellie and Vito just wow passionate,strong and serious and their connection and chemistry is fire absolutely loved it”.
