Below Deck’s Margot Sisson thanks ‘heroic’ crew for sexual misconduct firings

Below Deck: Captain Jason Chambers on Luke Jones scandal

Below Deck Down Under’s Margot Sisson has broken her silence after she was involved in a sexual misconduct incident involving two of her fellow co-stars.

During a recent episode of the hit Bravo show, bosun Luke Jones was seen climbing into her bed naked without her consent.

The shocking incident saw the production crew jump in to protect the reality star, along with her other crew members like Aesha Scott and Captain Jason Chambers.

The event was then followed up with inappropriate remarks from second steward Laura Bileskalne, who attempted to downplay the situation Margot.

After the incident was brought to his attention, Caption Jason decided to fire both Luke and Laura from the boat for their questionable actions.

Margot has since spoken out about her experience as she praised everyone involved for handling the situation with respect with a touching tribute post on social media.

The TV personality shared a series of Instagram Stories, which were later posted on her page as she wrote a lengthy message to Aesha, Captain Jason, Tzarina Mace-Ralph and Harry van Vliet.

In the first snap, the third stew shared a selfie with Aesha, who intervened when Luke jumped into bed with her, as she gave a “big thank you” and expressed the “love I have for her”.

Margot added: “The way she recognized the vulnerability of the situation I was in and her courageous intervention on my behalf was both heroic and so admirable.

“I thank the universe for her everyday, as well as the producers who quickly stepped in. Scott, you have a heart of gold, I look up to you, and I will forever be grateful.”

The reality star then went on to give a “HUGE thank you” to Captain Jason for his “immediate response to the situation, leaving no room for any BS.”

She continued, “There are unfortunately a lot of captains who would choose to sweep something like this under the rug, I am grateful that Jason is not one of them.”

Margot also addressed the firing of Laura who, following the incident, made inappropriate comments directed at her, including a joke about how she wouldn’t have turned Luke away if he’d come into her bed.

“Had I woken up to a boat full of people who had the same feelings as Laura, I would have continued to think it was my fault, and that I deserved it, and what happened was okay.

“There would have been no consequences, no accountability, and the same thing or worse could have happened again and again to someone else,” she pointed out.

Margot also wrote a message to her fans, who she says have sent her “beautiful messages” to support her after the incident.

She continued, “It breaks my heart to know that this has happened to so many of you reading this. Your emotions are valid, nobody is allowed to blame you, and you can’t blame yourself.”

In the final post, Margot made it clear that her relationship with alcohol has become “pretty much non-existent” and she has done “a LOT of work myself” since filming the season.

“When I see the show now, it’s like I’m watching someone else, a complete stranger,” she added, before commending herself and progress, noting: “I am so proud of who I am today.”
