BRITAIN’S kindest plumber who went viral after fixing boilers for OAPs free of charge is getting a garden makeover by TV’s Alan Titchmarsh.
James Anderson, 54, says he has helped thousands of elderly and vulnerable people in need since launching not-for-profit company Depher.
His acts of kindness hit headlines after a snap of his bill for £0 sent to a 91-year-old woman with acute leukaemia was posted online.
Now the dad-of-five will appear on ITV’s “Love Your Garden” after being picked for the show for a free makeover.
James, who has provided free or lower-cost plumbing to those in need since 2017, lives in a semi-detached property in Burnley, Lancs after moving from Liverpool, Merseyside.
The front garden is currently filled with dozens of ornaments, including garden gnomes, windmills and bird boxes.

A letter sent to residents said: “This is a notification to let you know that the resident has been selected for the ITV television programme Love Your Garden with Alan Titchmarsh.
“The garden makeover dates are from Monday May 23 to Thursday May 26.
“During this period there will be some disruption in the local area.
“We will be doing our best to keep the impact on the street to a minimum.”
The letter goes on to ask residents if they could kindly offer their driveway for space.
It said: “We will need to find space to place plants, skips and toilets.
“We need some kind residents to be able to lend us some space on their driveway/gardens in order to minimise disturbances on the road.”
After James was branded a “hero” when a picture of his £0 bill went viral, he was flooded with donations.
After getting himself in debt, he’s now able to provide free boilers free of charge from fundraisers.
James said: “I don't want any person who is elderly and disabled in this country, in this day and age, to die or suffer because of a cold home or a lack of funding to repair the boiler.

He’s currently raised over £10,000 after launching a emergency appeal to help fund the rising cost of living.
