Cheryl replaced by Hollywood legend's daughter as EastEnders favourite is also cast in hit horror show | The Sun

CHERYL has been replaced in 2:22 A Ghost Story with EastEnders star Jaime Winstone.

The singer, 39, kicked off her three-month stint in the hit horror show in January and received rave reviews.


Jaime, 37, who is the daughter of Hollywood actor Ray Winstone, will take on the leading female role of Jenny in the spooky show.

The actress previously played matriarch Peggy Mitchell in a special flashback episode of EastEnders last year and BBC biopic Babs, playing the iconic and beloved actress, Barbara Windsor.

She will star alongside EastEnders actor Ricky Champ, One Tree Hill star Sophia Bush and Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll star Clifford Samuel.

The 2:22 A Ghost Story Twitter page announced the news today.

They wrote: "We’re moving next door… and we’re bringing some brand-new dinner party guests with us!"

Cheryl followed in the footsteps of Lily Allen and Laura Whitmore to take on the leading female role of Jenny, while Hugo was supposed to be playing her onscreen husband Ben.

Many fans raced to share their excitement on the new line-up.

Last month fans were left surprised when Cheryl pulled out of a performance.

The West End show confirmed Cheryl would not be appearing but didn't go into detail.

The Girls Aloud singer has been busy playing the lead role of Jenny in the stage production since February.

Cheryl was expected to bag £1k a night for her performance as leading lady Jenny. 

Cheryl's West End debut was set to be her career comeback after taking time out of the spotlight.
