Christine Lampard has revealed she ditched a close friend who was being too ‘touchy-feely’ and ‘flirty’ with her husband, Frank Lampard.
The Loose Women presenter, 44, confessed she was left feeling uncomfortable after an ex-pal would try to be ‘sneaky’ with the sportsman ‘under the table.’
Christine added that while she hates any sort of confrontation, she was happy to ‘ghost’ a friend who crossed the line.
Speaking to Closer, she said: “It was in Frank and mine's very early days, and there was a certain person, who we don't actually see anymore, who could get very flirty and touchy-feely while I was there! I found that really awkward – at least a kiss is out there and in the open but sneakiness under a table?"
Christine continued: "I avoid confrontation – I don't like confrontation – but I'm brilliant at ghosting. I can easily step away, and that's how I deal with things that annoy me."
The pair have been happily married for almost eight years after meeting at the 2009 Pride of Britain awards.
They share two children together, Patricia, five, and Freddie, two, with Christine also step-mother to Luna, 18, and Isla, 16, from Frank's previous relationship with Elen Rives.
Reflecting on how the pair first met, Christine previously told the Mirror: "It was a complete Sliding Doors moment, I still remember the first meeting as clear as day. Who goes to an awards ceremony and finds a husband? That was me!
“Neither of us were even meant to go, and I was late after hosting The One Show. So when we are there now we do have a celebratory glass of champagne. It’s a special evening for us.”
Speaking to Women&Home magazine, the star opened up about how she manages to juggle raising her blended family with spending quality time with Frank.
She explained: "We try and prioritise each other's and the children's needs, but when he was still playing football, he was away at least two or three nights of the week, then training.
"Now, we do our best to go out for lunch or dinner, or have a night on the sofa when we can. Being part of a blended family is lovely. I don't remember life before it now.”
She went on to say that she first met Frank’s daughters Isla and Luna when they were two and four – with them now being 16 and almost 18.
