CLAUDIA Winkleman left a contestant on The Wheel sobbing with an emotional promise after a show blunder.

The Strictly Come Dancing co-host was on the BBC One show hosted by Michael McIntyre alongside a number of other famous faces.

In the latter stages of the game, Claudia was chosen to help contestant Antonia with a question about video games.

Claudia, 49, immediately admitted she knew nothing about video games, and drew a blank when she saw the question asking which character was not a ghost in the classic Pac-man arcade game. 

The question was worth £21,500, and Antonia told Michael it would "go a long way", as she wanted to visit her family in Australia, and she had a wedding dress to buy.

Looking at the four options, Inky, Winky, Blinky and Pinky, Claudia said: "I feel so terrible, I do not know the answer to this. What is your gut?"

Antonia said she thought it might be Inky, but added: "I genuinely have no clue [what the answer is]."

As they waited for the correct answer to be revealed, Claudia said: "You and I are going to go wedding dress shopping, can we just decide that?

"I am going to buy you a wedding dress because I don't think that's the right answer." 

Antonia immediately started wiping tears from her eyes at Claudia's kind gesture.

Claudia joked: "Mine was disgusting so I won’t lend it to you, but that’s what we’re going to do.

"We'll get you a new one, that's what we'll do." 

When the answer turned out to wrong, with the correct answer being Winky,Claudia reassured her again: "Don't worry, we are going [wedding dress] shopping."

The star was a woman of her word, and after the show, she did take Antonia shopping and paid for her dream wedding dress, sharing a picture of the happy moment on social media.

The Wheel airs Saturdays on BBC One.
