Coronation Street has seen a lot of babies being born throughout the years and Summer (played by Harriet Bibby) and Aaron (James Craven) are set to become the next pairing to do so. However, Summer has still yet to tell her adoptive father Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) the news but upcoming scenes reveal that Summer has other ideas when it comes to her pregnancy.
Official spoilers reveal that Aaron is adamant that his dad needs to go into rehab, but it costs £10,000 which neither of them has.
Summer later meets up with Esther Hargrave (Vanessa Hehir) and her husband Mike at a private hospital where she agrees to let them adopt her baby.
They attend the baby’s scan with Summer, where Mike assures her that they’ll provide her with all the emotional and financial support that she needs.
Seizing the opportunity, Summer announces that she needs £10,000 upfront, leaving Mike and Esther taken back.
After the scan, Summer meets up with Aaron and drops the bombshell that she is still pregnant while wanting to give the baby to Mike and Esther.
She continues on and reveals that she asked them for the £10,000 that he needs to get his dad into rehab, but will he take it the right way?
Worried about her morning sickness and how it is going to affect her diabetes, Summer seeks the help of Dr Gaddas (Christine Mackie).
As she returns home, Summer is overcome by a wave of nausea, throwing up in the sink, leaving Billy convinced her eating disorder has come back with a vengeance.
After going out for some fresh air, Summer returns home to find Billy, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) and Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) waiting for her, but will she tell them the truth?
Trying to throw them off the scent, Summer and Aaron tell Billy that they’re moving into the builder’s yard flat with Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvany) and Jacob Hay (Jack James Ryan).
If Summer and Aaron move in with Amy and Jacob, she may be able to hide her pregnancy from Billy and Todd.
However, if they find out that she is pregnant, they may not be so supportive of her idea to give away the baby to Mike and Esther.
Will Aaron be on board with Summer’s plan, or will he end up telling Billy and Todd what is really happening between the pair?
Amy star Elle Mulvany recently opened up on the upcoming storyline of the four teenagers living together, and said at the Inside Soap Awards: “We are moving out!
“We are moving into a new flat with our friends, so it’s very much Friends-esque. There’s going to be loads and loads of fun and you’re going to see them in a whole new light.”
Jacob star Jack James Ryan added: “It’s Amy, Jacob, Aaron and Summer. The great thing about this is we’re really good friends outside of work with Harriet [Bibby] and James [Craven].
“That chemistry that we have off-screen, we’re going to try and bring that on screen. I think it’s going to be a really great dynamic and we’re really excited for it.
“It’s going to be a big Christmas for Jacob and Amy that’s for sure. It will be explosive and emotional, but also good as well.
“I think we’re starting to become a new Steve and Tracy, bringing in that dynamic. We were really unlikely, but we work so well and we get along really well off-screen.”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
