Coronation Street star Lisa George has revealed if Beth Sutherland (Lisa George) and Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment) can survive her infidelity.
Things had been on the rocks for the couple last month after Beth slapped Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) after she attempted to get revenge following Cilla the Chinchilla’s death.
Beth attempted to remind Kirk that she’s a good person underneath, and that came in the form of showing him some mementos from their relationship.
Kirk was touched, but he then found a letter from Beth’s old boyfriend, Marco (Paul Albertson), leading Beth on a trip down memory lane as the pair meet on the premise of organising a school reunion.
After she meets up with him in a hotel bar, the pair immediately hit it off and a spark is still immediately present.
She keeps the meeting a secret from Kirk, but she strays into risky territory after the pair meet for a milkshake and Marco goes in for a kiss when he senses Beth has feelings for her old flame.
She pulls away, saying she doesn’t reciprocate his feelings – but is it too late as someone spots the pair together?
George has revealed whether she thinks the fan favourite couple can recover from Beth’s betrayal.
‘Kirk means everything to Beth and she will want to put her all into fighting for their relationship,’ she said.
‘I think they can get through this but it might take some time for Kirk to trust her again, but he will be really hurt and she knows she has done wrong.’
Things get more complicated for Beth as she uncovers more than she bargained for when sneaking around with Marco.
While Beth is meeting her ex behind Kirk’s back, she runs into Faye Windass (Ellie Leach) doing the same thing with Jackson Hodge (Joseph Evans) behind Beth’s son Craig Tinker’s (Colson Smith) back.

Faye has told Craig she is meeting with a girlfriend, while Beth has told Kirk she is also meeting up with pals – with the two shocked to uncover each other’s deceit.
George has explained how Beth feels in this situation, as she tries to navigate the web of lies beginning to form.
‘It is hard for Beth because she is worrying about her own situation but she is also worried about Craig,’ she said.
‘She is desperate to keep her meeting with Marco a secret but can only do that if she keeps Faye’s secret too so it is a real dilemma.
‘Both Beth and Faye beg each other to keep the secret. She would do anything for Craig, but she is also quite selfish when it comes down to it. And of course, she doesn’t know that was spotted at the precinct anyway so back home the truth might well be coming out.’
