Coronation Street fans have gone wild after recognising newcomer Darren Vance from a rival soap after he made his debut on the ITV soap last week.
Last week the wealthy businessman (played by Ryan Early) arrived in Weatherfield and it didn’t take long before he got comfortable on the cobbles after Dev Alahan attempted to network with him.
While the entrepreneur turned down a business deal with the family, he decided to involve his son Aadi – who is set to have an affair with his wife in upcoming scenes – in his ongoing business and investments as his “right hand man”.

But it’s fair to say viewers were left a little distracted by the actor after they instantly recognised him from Emmerdale as the dramatic scenes unfolded.
Loyal fans of the Yorkshire-based soap will recall the 44-year-old actor as DC Shawcross who was the leading investigator tackling the murder of Carl King back in October 2012.
The village badboy was killed off after more than eight years of causing carnage in the Dales as part of the soap’s 40th anniversary.
Following his explosive death, residents began to question who was responsible after he was found dead, but viewers knew who it was all along as they’d watch the dramatic scenes unravel right before their eyes.
For weeks, his former flame Chas was convinced she had killed him after she hit him over the head with a brick when he attempted to rape her.
But it was actually his love rival Cameron who delivered the fatal blow after Carl boasted about his ability to make people disappear and remain untouched.
His death went down as one of the most iconic in soap history, with his last words ironically being “because I'm indestructible.”
Cameron went on to become so consumed with guilt that he confessed the truth about Carl’s death to Alex Moss before taking his own life as DC Shawcross discovered days later.
But this wasn’t his first role playing a copper after he played the role of PC Tom Nicholson on Heartbeat from 2001 to 2002.
The actor’s other credits include The Bill, Emmerdale, Casulty and most recently The Archers where he played Lee Bryce from 2001 to 2023.
