Coronation Street spoilers have signalled heartache for poor Johnny Connor, who is serving out a sentence behind bars in Weatherfield's prison.
The former barman was recently diagnosed with Charles Bonnet Syndrome, with doctors finding the cause behind his many hallucinations and strange behaviour.
Johnny, played by Richard Hawley, also suffers from multiple sclerosis, a condition targeting the brain and spinal cord.
Corrie spoilers have predicted Johnny's health will worsen in upcoming scenes, kicking off when fellow prisoner Kai accuses him of dealing drugs.
Mistaking Johnny's MS medication for hard drugs, Kai is convinced he is trying to take over his own drug dealing empire in the local prison.
Gary Windass (Mikey North) tries his best to defend his friend, but his words do little to help and Kai ends up hunting Johnny down and beating him up.
Visiting her husband in the clink, Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) is horrified to see the state he is in, terrified by Johnny's deteriorating condition.
Johnny then confesses he hasn't been taking his medication, revealing he likes the hallucinations as they allow him to see his son Aidan.
Jenny is heartbroken, but Carla Connor (Alison King) is more concerned about his medication, vowing to convince Johnny to start taking his pills.
Bitter newcomer Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan Evans) shuts the pair down, insisting Johnny isn't worth the energy they are investing in him.
Daisy arranges for her step mum Jenny to go on a date with a punter in the bistro named Neil, leaving the barmaid furious.
Jenny holds her own, and orders Daisy to show some respect for her husband, pointing out she is still in love with Johnny, despite his incarceration.
When Johnny calls Jenny and reveals he still hasn't taken his medication, his wife begs him to change his mind and follow the doctor's orders.
