Coronation Street star Ryan Connor actor Ryan Prescott has confirmed that Lucy Fallon will be returning as Bethany Platt, after the character left three years ago to take a magazine internship in London.
The actor was joined by his co-star Lucy at the Inside Soap Awards on Monday 25 September where he revealed Lucy’s comeback and hinted that a new romance could be on the cards for his character soon.
When asked about Bethany returning to the soap, Ryan told The Mirror: “I believe so yeah”.
Discussing a reunion between Ryan and Bethany and a future romance, the soap star said: “Who knows, I like Lucy she's a fantastic actress. The love triangle has become a love square."
He continued: “I'd love for Ryan to find his feet in a relationship somewhere, I don't know with who. He's been looking for love since the start in a way. He's had his heart broken a couple of times. I love working with Sair Khan who plays Alya, we have got chemistry as friends on set and so it's easy working with her. I dunno where it will go but I want that for Ryan.”
Ryan Prescott is the third actor to have played Ryan Connor and has taken on some difficult scenes in the past week as his dark secret was exposed.
The actor has been filming x-rated videos in order to make a living, but has so far managed to keep his identity hidden with the use of a filter.
However, on Monday 25 September Ryans world started to come crashing down as he learned his filter has dropped out mid-stream and his client has recognised him from the scars he has as the result of a gruesome acid attack.
Bethany Platt left Weatherfield in 2020 after five years when she took a magazine internship in London.
When Lucy left Corrie, she told OK! that she would "never say never" about going back on the show. The actress said: "I’d never say never because Bethany didn’t die. I didn’t leave because I didn’t enjoy it, I left because I felt like if I didn’t leave now and try to experience life, I would never leave.
"That wouldn’t be a bad thing, but I didn’t want to get to ten years down the line and think, 'I should have gone for a couple of years to experience other things.'"
