Duggar family slammed for posting 'graphic' pic of son Jackson, 17, with deer he killed before making 'jerky' out of it

THE Duggar family is coming under fire for sharing a photo of a smiling Jackson kneeling over the deer he shot and killed.

In the Instagram photo, the 17-year-old smiles as he lifts the dead animal's head up by it's antlers as his rifle laid over the buck's body.

The image was captioned: "Jackson got a nice buck on Saturday, the opening day of gun season here in Arkansas!

"We’ve already enjoyed some of the meat from his harvest! Deer jerky is one of our favorites to make.

"Jackson is a good shot, and becoming a great cook, too!"

But fans cried foul over the fatal shot, with many disapproving in the comments section, sharing varying lengths of "No's"

One follower exclaimed: "Y’all need to take a minute off social media .. feel the room!"

While another responded: "Sorry no congratulations from me."

A third simply noted the photo was: "Graphic and cruel."

GET OUT THE VOTE

Still, some questioned whether the posed photo was a planned stunt to bolster Jim Bob's fan base as he runs for Arkansas state senate.

One person responded: "I think they know exactly what they’re doing. Jim Bob is chasing a particular kind of voter."

Jim Bob's campaign website intro reads in part: "Now more than ever, we need a bold voice that is pro-family, pro-business, pro-gun and pro-life.

"It’s time for conservatives to demand courageous leadership that puts Arkansas families, jobs, and our constitutional liberties first. I look forward to being your voice in the Arkansas State Senate."

KILLER CRITICISM

This isn't the first time Jim Bob and family have been criticized for their kills.

Daughter Joy-Anna and her husband, Austin Forsyth, faced backlash almost exactly a year ago for sharing a photo posing with a dead deer he hunted.

Austin posted a gallery of pictures from his hunting trip with Joy-Anna and their friend Jeff Danker, who hosts a hunting show.

The trio sat behind a large, dead deer, with blood visible on its stomach, as they smiled and Austin held onto its antlers.

In another photo, just the Counting On alums posted with the animal, and the third shot saw the deer being dragged across the ground.

Along with the post, Austin wrote: “Thankful for these last four days and the time we got to spend with @jeffdanker and his crew!"

In the comments, the former reality star’s followers slammed him for “going into this deers natural habitat and disturbing the peace.”

One fan said it was just “so disgusting what they did,” while another reacted, “That wasn’t nice!!! It makes my heart so sad for that poor animal. I expected better from them.”

Eventually, Austin decided to fire back at one of his critics who asked: "What happened to thou shalt not kill?"

He replied: "God was talking about people. He commanded thousands of Israelites to sacrifice thousands of animals. Maybe study the Bible before quoting it?"

Austin added, "People and animals are two different things," alongside a wink emoji.

JOSH'S TRIAL

All of this comes as the family is currently awaiting their eldest son Josh's trial for his April 2021 arrest for receiving and possessing child pornography.

According to the Pretrial Scheduling Order, Josh had until October 18th to accept a plea agreement and change his non-guilty plea.

Recently, Josh, 33, missed the deadline to accept a plea deal before the November 30 trial in his case.

Jim Bob's son could be facing up to 20 years behind bars if found guilty.
