EastEnders: Lola tells Lexi her brain tumour has grown
Currently, EastEnders resident Lola Pearce (played by Danielle Harold) is receiving palliative care for the end of her life, although she’s dealt a devastating blow in upcoming scenes.
After deciding it’s time to stop working in the salon, Kim Fox ( Tameka Empson) decides to throw Lola a leaving karaoke party.
However, with her anxiety currently getting the best of her, she forgets to hire the karaoke machine for the party.
Luckily for her, new arrival Elaine Peacock (Maria Friedman) has bonded with Ben and has managed to get a swanky machine for them all to use.
Although the event was meant to be a joyous occasion, it soon takes a turn when it becomes too much for Lola who makes a secret escape outside.
It’s not long before her friends Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Honey Mitchell ( Emma Barton) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) realise she’s missing and begin to panic when they can’t find her.
All going in search of her, including Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) and Billy Mitchell ( Perry Fenwick), Lola is found outside of the gym on the floor.
Later on at home, Lola starts to grow concerned when she realises her mobility and speech are impaired.
After being taken to the hospital, Lola wakes up extremely weak with her loved ones by her side as she’s given heartbreaking news.

Lola is informed the palliative chemotherapy treatment she’s been having hasn’t worked, which prompts Jay to try and make the most out of the little time they have left.
Breaking her out of the hospital, he takes her to the seaside to enjoy a fun-filled day as Lola spots a ruby necklace she wants to get her daughter Lexi (Isabella Brown) to open when she’s 16.
Later on, Lola and Jay have a heart-to-heart on the seafront which is soon interrupted by the police.
Ruining their sweet moment together, the office and shopkeeper reveal Lola stole the £60 necklace for Lexi.
Earlier this year, actress Danielle Harold opened up on her character’s storyline on her Instagram.
She wrote: “Lola’s story has been a very hard one to tell and one that means so much to me and sadly affects so many people,” she captioned a shot of her in character.
“Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet historically only 1 per cent of research is allocated to this devastating disease,” she added.
“I would like to take a moment for everybody that has reached out to me and shared their experiences with me, I have read every message. And hold all of your messages close to my heart whilst playing this story.”
EastEnders continues Monday-Thursday on BBC One from 7:30pm.
