Alfie (played by Shane Richie) returned to EastEnders a few weeks ago and has already caused some chaos with Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) relationship. He immediately went about securing a job at The Vic, and after befriending Linda (Kellie Bright) over their exes moving on with their enemies, she allowed him to start working at the pub. With Mick (Danny Dyer) back in Walford next week though, it seems the current landlord will be less than impressed by the new friendship.
Official BBC spoilers reveal Linda confides in Alfie about missing Mick.
She mopes that she doesn’t want to celebrate Halloween this year due to memories with her husband, and is frustrated when he goes and organises an event in The Vic anyway.
Meanwhile, Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero) and Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) encourage Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) to join a dating app, and Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) is jealous to learn this.
Later, Linda panics about Alfie taking Ollie Carter (Harry Farr) trick-or-treating without her knowing.
Jean is upset about Harvey’s developing love life, while Linda later thanks Alfie for making her Halloween memorable.
Soon after, Kat is angry to find out Alfie has allowed the boys to bunk off school.
She refuses to let him have them over the weekend, and Linda has a plan to help her friend.
Alfie makes positive strides forward with Kat, but later disappoints her again when he gets stuck on the roof of The Vic and can’t pick up Tommy (Sonny Kendall).
Furious with Alfie for another mishap, Kat refuses to let him have the boys.
A guilty Linda feels like it’s all her fault and tries to make things right as she explains to Kat it was her idea for Alfie to be on the roof.
Later, Jean tries to deny her feelings for Harvey as Linda anticipates Mick’s return.
Jean overhears Mitch, Tom “Rocky” Cotton (Brian Conley) and Harvey discussing Sophia, his dating app match.
Mick and Janine (Charlie Brooks) come back from holiday and Mick is disappointed to find Alfie has been helping out at The Vic.
Later, Linda and Mick connect as he discusses his time away, they almost share a moment but are interrupted.
Could Mick be jealous of Alfie and Linda’s growing friendship?
Although he has moved on with Janine, he may be uncomfortable seeing Alfie and Linda flirting.
This might mean he isn’t quite ready to give up on their marriage, which could lead to a heart-to-heart between the two.
The formerly strong couple might end up considering their future.
Could they get back together? It’s possible Mick will realise he wants to be with Linda again, not Janine.
The popular landlord is set to be leaving at the end of this year – could he and Linda’s reignited spark be the start of Mick’s exit?
It’s possible the truth about Linda’s car accident will finally come out and he will realise how manipulative Janine truly is.
Wanting to move on from their troubled past, Mick and Linda might finally reunite but decide to leave the Square.
Could next week be the start of a turning point for the fan favourite couple?
EastEnders continues on Wednesday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
