There’s a huge week coming up in Emmerdale where secrets are set to be exposed, lives will be in danger and for some characters, things won’t ever be the same again.
The week begins with flashforward sequences, similar to the ones that aired during Mandy (Lisa Riley) and Paul’s (Reece Dinsdale) wedding week that hinted at tragedy for characters, with questions being answered as the episodes went on.
These upcoming scenes are also being compared to Ashley’s dementia story, Graham’s murder and the Big Night Out – all storylines that saw Emmerdale think outside the box, filming using innovative techniques to really make it feel as though the audience are in the middle of all the drama.
With the scenes airing at the start of May, we still have a couple of weeks to go but luckily, Emmerdale boss Laura Shaw has told Metro.co.uk a little bit more about what’s ahead, including extra information on a stunt that’s never been done before:
‘We’re also featuring huge stunts. We’ve filmed a fairly big stunt; it’s been really exciting to film and I don’t think we’ve done anything like it before. We had a lot of conversations and scratchings of heads. I pitched the idea, and everyone was stunned! In the end, we had to build a very special prop in order to make the stunt work.
‘We’ve also used some new and different filming techniques that make you feel like you’re right in the middle of all the action. It’s absolutely terrifying!
‘I don’t think we’ve ever done that in Emmerdale before, it was really great to watch our hugely talented team do new and exciting things to make the show look incredible.’
