Emmerdale fans furious over Luke Posner’s ‘pathetic’ exit after actor Max Parker quit the soap

EMMERDALE fans are furious over Luke Posner’s lowkey exit after actor Max Parker quit the soap.

The chef – who was played by Max in the ITV soap for two years – simply packed up his car and drove away to live with a friend.

Viewers have watched over the last month as Luke was revealed to be secretly gay – and also responsible for his evil brother Lee’s death.

The revelation could mean that Robert Sugden is freed from prison, though soap bosses have denied the character is returning.

Luke’s exit left fans underwhelmed – and they took to Twitter to vent.

One wrote: "I usually try to be positive but this Luke storyline is abysmal and I really can't blame Max for leaving…"

A second said: "Luke’s character was kind of wasted on Victoria .. #emmerdale"

Another added: "So is this Luke’s proper exit then?"

A source said: “Max was never going to stay on the soap for years.

“He’s ambitious and a talented guy – he’s already auditioning for new roles and excited for the future.

“But never say never – there’s always a chance he could return one day.”

The star also met his boyfriend on the show. The Sun exclusively revealed how he and on-screen brother Kris Mochrie began dating after meeting on the soap.

The couple now live in a luxury penthouse apartment in Manchester.

His exit comes as ITV bosses made the decision to turn the soap into a boxset for the next four weeks.

All this week’s episodes of the ITV soap are available to watch now on the channel’s streaming service.

The soap will still broadcast on ITV’s main channel, but this way fans won’t be disappointed with the schedule changes due to the Euro 2021 football tournament.
