Emmerdale: Caleb catches Nicky and Gabby together
During Monday night’s episode of Emmerdale, Leyla Cavanagh (played by Roxy Shahidi) returned from her spa retreat after being kidnapped by drug dealer Callum (Tom Ashley). Now, ITV viewers have theorised that despite her divorce from Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) she could be set to fall into another romance with an unlikely resident, but is she in safe hands?
Walking back into David’s Shop, Leyla was excited to see her son Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren-Plant) as he exclaimed: “Hey your back!”
She replied: “Yeah, just popped in to see that face! Was just what I needed and got my head together. How are you after everything?”
Jacob admitted: “Yeah I’m ok, I would have let you know otherwise!” before she quickly made sure: “Everything is alright between me and you isn’t it?”
Laughing, Jacob reassured his mum: “Yeah of course it is, let’s just forget it,” before asking him to join her for lunch.
As the pair settle into the Woolpack for a drink, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) overheard her conversation with Jacob about her retreat and teased: “No holiday nookie to report on?”
Shaking her head, Leyla admitted: “I have nothing to report on because I wasn’t looking for that. Besides I don’t think a recovering addict with PTSD going through a divorce really screamed holiday romance.”
Making light of the situation, Charity joked: “Oh well clearly you are going on the wrong holidays then, what do you say?” turning to Caleb Milligan (William Ash).
Wanting to stay out of their conversation, Charity asked if Leyla had met Caleb before, to which she explained: “Yeah our paths crossed.”
However, Caleb didn’t stay quiet and stated: “I think no one chatted you up because you are intimidating, it’s always the pretty ones that no one dares talk to.”
Having had enough of the weird conversation about his mother, Jacob expressed: “Right can we stop talking about whether or not my mum is or isn’t fit please?”
After paying for their lunch, Jacob headed off which left an opportunity for Caleb to slide over to Leyla, to which she teased: “Thought you said no one dares speaks to the pretty women?”
He laughed and explained: “That’s for regular people, doesn’t apply to me. Look I, I heard about what happened to you with that fella.

“You know when I gave you that advice about not backing down, I had no idea how bad it was so, I am really sorry about that.
“Well that was all I wanted to say, well that and the offer still stands. If you need me, call me,” before walking off leaving Leyla smiling at their small interaction.
Viewers of the ITV soap have theorised that Leyla and Caleb’s romance will be heavily one sided, leaving Leyla to leave Emmerdale for good at the hands of Caleb.
Taking to Twitter, user @griannedoherty3 noted: “WTF is Caleb literally always in the middle of everything seriously? Now Leyla.
“She needs to focus on her recovery, not another dodgy bloke. Definitely, something more going on there that’s for sure #Emmerdale.”
@pam_debeauvoir joked: “Leyla’s thinking, ‘hmm, the best way to get over someone is to get under Caleb’ #Emmerdale.”
@PaulPoeUK commented: “Caleb out for revenge then for stitching up one of his dealers. #Emmerdale.”
Clare Fieldings theorised: “What if Caleb pretends to get with Leyla but will just end up using her as a pawn in his dirty businesses? Don’t go there Leyla.”
@ItzzKayo added: “Not Caleb casually dropping in the fact he should have ‘saved’ her from his own drug dealer. The unfortunate clue here is that she will fall for him and he will use her. I can see an exit coming here.”
Being against the idea, @jolauzzaaaax said: “I will riot if they put Caleb and Leila together. I can only see this ending badly for Leyla and that’s either with an exit for good or a death.” (sic)
Emmerdale airs weekdays from 7:30pm on ITV.
