Escape to the Chateau's Angel reveals the main cause of her arguments with husband Dick

ESCAPE to the Chateau's Angel Adoree has revealed the main cause of her arguments with husband Dick Strawbridge.

The couple have been married since 2015 and document their lives as they work on their French chateau on the hit Channel 4 show.

Like any married couple, the pair bicker and their pair's sniping has been caught on camera on a number of occasions.

Now Angel, 43, has revealed what is the main cause of her arguments with former Army Captain Dick, 61.

During an interview with The Telegraph, Dick discussed their age difference, saying: "When I went to Sandhurst in ’78 – what were you doing then, Angela? Oh, you were being born, the first thing you learn is the motto 'serve to lead'."

Angel added: "And he does love to be on time, which is probably the main cause of any little arguments we might have."

Dick, who is now a Lieutenant Colonel, having graduated from The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, explained: "If I was a colonel and I was 10 minutes late and there were 600 soldiers waiting for my command, that would be 100 man-hours wasted."

He added: "As a consequence, I hate being late, so I am always chasing Angela to get out of the door so we get to school on time!"

Angel continued: "He will say, 'Hurry up, we’re late for school,' and I’ll say, 'Hang on, we’ve got five minutes yet and I’m still doing Dorothy’s hair!'

"And he’s like, 'I told you to hurry up 10 minutes ago,' it’s just bickering really."

The couple – who have two children together – returned with a new series of spin-off show, Escape to the Chateau: Make Do and Mend on Thursday night.

Dick and Angel help couples with their design and DIY dilemmas, but at one point, Dick silenced his wife when she started to get overexcited about one of her ideas.

Escape to the Chateau: Make Do and Mend continues on Thursday, July 1 at 9pm on Channel 4.
