Family claim BBC presenter tried to meet youngster at train station

The family of a youngster who was reportedly paid large sums of money by a BBC presenter in exchange for explicit pictures says the TV star tried to arrange a meet-up at a train station.

They say it was this moment that prompted them to lodge a complaint with the top brass at the Beeb. It comes as the Sun published a series of allegations about the unnamed TV star.

The family say they have now decided to speak-out in a bid to save the “vulnerable” person. They claim the money paid by the BBC host was used to fund a “spiralling” crack habit.

The stepdad claims they only complained to the corporation initially to stop money being sent.

The stepdad told the Sun: “Without the money, my partner’s child would have no drugs.”

He says the BBC bosses were told the family had screenshots of interactions between the youngster and the star. The man added: “We put the allegations to them for an hour.”

They claim the presenter wasn’t even spoken to by bosses and remained on screens until the broadcaster was approached by journalists last week.

The family claim the broadcast star blew his cover when he shared a picture of himself in his underwear to the youngster. The stepdad says contact between the duo had gone on “for three years” and that the young person was now 20.

The Sun says the Beeb contacted the family in June – although the broadcaster claims no one answered its calls.

And earlier today a lawyer representing the individual said nothing unlawful or inappropriate had happened.
