First Dates in major shake-up as Channel 4 show returns to celebrate 10th anniversary | The Sun

FIRST Dates has announced a major shake-up as the show returns to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

The hit Channel 4 dating programme is coming back for a brand new series with Fred Sirieix at the helm.

But this time bosses have announced the iconic restaurant has been replaced with a new location.

Singletons will make their way to The Botanist bar & restaurant in Bath, Somerset.

The move comes after Bath was recently named as the UK's most romantic city as producers hope sparks will fly between the new daters.

However, Channel 4 have also announced the show's format is getting a complete overhaul.

Bosses didn't exactly say what will change, but confirmed viewers can expect to see new cast members.

Speaking about the new series, Fred, 51, said: “Making this new series feels special, celebrating a decade of bringing people together on the show, but there’s always more love to be found.

"They say Bath is the most romantic City in the UK and its true, so what better place to set the scene for romance to blossom than there!”

Teasing what fans of the show can expect, James O’Reilly, Creative Director at Twenty Twenty, said: “We can’t wait for the new First Dates restaurant to open its doors to singletons looking for love in beautiful Bath.

"It's Britain's most romantic city and promises to be the perfect backdrop to our 10th Anniversary season – which will also have a new look and some exciting twists to go with our brand-new location…

"As well as being the ideal place for our couples to fall for one another, Bath is right on the doorstep of our home in Bristol, and reflects Twenty Twenty's commitment to producing programming here in the south-west; we want to do all we can to nurture talent in the region and help the industry grow on our home turf."

It comes after Fred exclusively told The Sun how discussions are currently taking place about First Dates Hotel.

"We are in discussion about different things we could do – whether we make it happen is another story but we're talking about stuff.

"I'd love to do First Dates Hotel in Negril in Jamaica, that would be lovely. I'm sure there would be a lot of people who would apply."
