Five Coronation Street spoilers: creepy couple exposed and a shock police raid | The Sun

ITV viewers have been eagerly waiting for their dose of Weatherfield drama.

After a series of cancellations, Coronation Street returns to our screens on Wednesday. Here's what to expect.

1. Mike and Esther's past exposed

Viewers of the Manchester-based program have been suspicious of Mike and Esther from the get-go.

This week on ITV, their doubts about the pair are confirmed as their shady past slowly comes to light.

Todd Grimshaw (played by Gareth Pierce) has been the main Weatherfield resident to suspect not everything is as it seems with Mike and Esther.

Coming up, the teen portrayed by Harriet Bibby is shocked when the undertaker tells her he contacted by a woman called Ava.

It's revealed Ava was a member of the congregation at Mike and Esther’s old church.

To make matters worse, she claims she had an affair with Mike.

In later scenes, Summer confronts Esther (former Waterloo Road star Vanessa Hehir) and she finds out Ava isn't lying.

2. Vulnerable resident is kidnapped

Yet according to Esther, they've decided to put the past behind them.

Summer struggles to let it all go and decides to meet up with Ava – but she's shocked by what she discovers.

What will she find?

While that remains to be seen, she will definitely have a lot to say about her discovery.

Fuming, Summer heads over to Esther and Mike's but danger is looming on the horizon.

Mike locks her in the nursery without her bag containing her phone and insulin.

Summer is held hostage by the couple but could her life be in danger?

3. The Bistro is raided

Elsewhere in the cobbles, Leanne Battersby (played by Jane Danson) was somewhat relieved when newcomer Damon Hay (Ciarán Griffiths) got involved with the Bistro.

But she may come to realise allowing him into the restaurant was a mistake.

This week, Damon introduces Leanne to a man called Dan, a fruit and veg supplier.

He even tells her Dan can do her a far better deal – but Jacob (Jack James Ryan) is suspicious of his father when Damon tells him that Dan's first delivery is due in the afternoon.

To top it all off, Jacob learns a package containing drugs will be hidden in the crate of olive oil.

All hell could be breaking loose in later scenes of the soap when Jacob expects the first drugs delivery.

The lad panics when a party of police officers arrive for a retirement do… with a sniffer dog in tow.

A crate of olive oil is delivered and Jacob manages to get the package out before leaving the Bistro.

Unfortunately, the sniffer dog barks and attracts PC Craig Tinker's (Colson Smith) attention.

Is the game already up?

4. Jacob takes action for Amy

In later scenes, Jacob suffers the consequences of the raid as Damon gives him a beating.

The situation is dire and Jacob is told that if he wants to protect his girlfriend Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney), he has to leave Weatherfield for good.

Jacob mulls it over and soon tells Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) how Damon is smuggling drugs through the restaurant.

The lad realises he has no choice but to exit Amy's life as he's only putting her in danger.

When he hears her enter the flat, Jacob desperately pretends he's dealing drugs on the phone.

She's horrified to think he's up to his old tricks – what will she do?

Will Jacob really leave the Street?

5. David picks up the pieces

Griff Reynolds (Michael Condron) came out of the shadows during last night's Corrie instalment and confronted Max Turner (Paddy Bever).

This led to the activist being arrested for his actions, although the troubled teen remains brainwashed.

But before the racist thug could be approached by the authorities, David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) fought him to protect his son.

As fans of the soap have witnessed, Daryan overheard Max arguing with a man inside the house and warned David.

Alarmed, David rushed to the house to see what was going on, coming face to face with Griff.

A brutal fight broke out as Max watched helplessly.

Following the fight and Griff's arrest, David willbe treading carefully around the lad, although Spider Nugent will assure him Max is a good kid.

Little will he know that Max could be leaving the cobbles with his girlfriend Lauren who tells him she's going to stay with her mother in Devon to avoid repercussions.

What will Max decide?
