Good Morning Britain host devastated by loss as family member ‘dies suddenly’

One Good Morning Britain presenter has shared their “profound sadness” after losing a family member “suddenly” yesterday.

ITV host Robert Rinder took to Instagram to update fans on his devastating news on Friday (December 2).

His pet pooch, Rocco, passed away after blessing Rob’s life with “limitless joy”.

The devastated Judge Rinder star explained: “My Rocco died suddenly yesterday. He blessed me with a lifetime of loyalty and limitless joy.

“I don’t speak about my private world normally. But wanted to share my profound sadness with anybody who has ever loved a dog.

“It is the deepest gift of unconditional love imaginable,” he concluded.

His fans soon flocked to the comments section, with Strictly star Arlene Phillips writing: “Rob, it’s so so sad to hear this. Polly our beloved Manchester Terrier died five years ago and the missing of her never stops.

“Just sending a virtual hug to you to help heal in some small way your [heart].”

Kai Widdrington added: “Sending love.”

As former BBC Breakfast host Louise Minchin said: “I am so sorry what a terrible shock and what a sadness for you. Sending you so much love my friend.”

His GMB co-stars were also there with some words of support, as weather presenter Charlotte Hawkins said: “Oh no, so sorry Rob. Sending a huge hug and loads of love.”

Richard Arnold added: “Oh Rob. I’m so sorry lovely man. Never a truer word.”

It comes after weather-girl Laura Tobin found herself replaced on Thursday’s show (December 1) as a new presenter took over in her absence.

Ruth Dodsworth stepped into Laura’s shoes to give updates on the weather, after being best known for her role at ITV Cymru Wales.

Fans were loving the sudden change, with one writing on Twitter: “How lovely to see Ruth on GMB, I turned tv on to see Ruth doing UK weather without the dulcet tones of Andrew Jones but then we get the lovely Ben, Kate and Sean.”
